Salmonella monitoring by the CLVP

Salmonella is undoubtedly a well-known and important factor when it comes to food safety in the Netherlands. It is therefore very important that we establish in good time whether there is salmonella present in your poultry flock. Our laboratory is ISO / IEC 17025 accredited. This means that we follow the regulations of the regulator when we conduct research into salmonella bacteria. The CLVP carries out this research using the standard method, but for emergency research our lab is also able to perform PCR studies.

Poultry research on several levels

Our laboratory performs a wide variety of studies. The basic examination focuses on the external characteristics, the organ systems (such as the gastrointestinal tract, respiratory system and the heart) and the legs. We start follow-up investigations if an abnormality is found.

Research analysis within Animal Health Group

In addition to the extensive experience within the CLVP, our strength also lies in the cooperation with other divisions within the Animal Health Group. Avecur’s specialised veterinarians examine and treat poultry and rabbits on a daily basis. In the field of nutrition, Agraplan knows exactly what your animals need. Combining this knowledge, together with the CLVP, ensures that we can carry out a thorough investigation and an expert analysis to provide the correct guidance and treatment of your poultry and rabbits.
